Hi ,

I was just interested in emailing you because I'm an older ortho

patient (41) and now I'm really worried about nerve damage or the

length of time to recover, it seems that it may be longer for older

patients. Did you have this surgery done recently? Right now, my

lip and chin tingle but I can't feel any hot/cold or touching. Does

the tingling mean that it will come back soon, or could it tingle

like this for months and months with no feeling returning?

I just thought I'd ask, sounded like perhaps you have been through

this already.

Hi Pam,

I don't think the length of time for recovery is any longer for

older patients. I had a really easy recovery.

I had my surgery in August 2002.

Tingling is good, nerves are waking up. Nerve recovery is often

measured in days, then weeks, then months, then years, increasingly

more subtle as time goes on. Everyone's different in this respect.

Hope that helps,
