Guest guest
Hi Karianna,Here's the post about making it without a yogurt maker or oven: http://www.scdkat.com/2010/06/china-part-9-how-i-made-yogurt-in-china-2/ If you can bring a heating pad that might make it easier. Also try to bring yogurt starter if you can! I found it hard to find a plain yogurt to use as a starter. Hope you have fun in Thailand, that's one place on my list to visit.Kat Last time I traveled someone gave me a link on how they made yogurt in china withotut yogurt maker or oven (I think it was china).I'm going to thailand in 3 weeks and I need to make yogurt there. I'm not sure if I can get goat milk but I can at least make coconut yogurt. But the problem is that I don't have a oven that is 40F and I don't have a yogurt maker... Guest guest
Karianne,Also, there is a way with a foam box (cardboard should work too) and a regular light bulb. You could pack the lamp/light fixture (easy to find in the hardware store) and buy a plug adapter (not transformer, just to adapt the plug to fit the local socket) and a local light bulb -- the wiring in the light fixture will be fine. Guest guest
Hi, This is a good use for incandescent lightbulbs-- just a note, the CFLs--compact fluorescent-- bulbs won't put out enough heat for yogurt making.
