Guest guest
Oh My heavens Barb, I think you should stay inside. I know I would have just wet myself with the sliding...LOL I am glad to hear Mike is ok from the head smack. Do you have plenty food and supplies in ? Just hang in there you will be able to go out about July or so.. That is why I don't live where it gets cold.. LOL I am feeling ornery today. I remember driving a '56 Pontiac down a long slopping hill and sliding to the bottom.. 16 years old, no license, no experience. and SCURED to death. As far as the prednisone, call your Dr. and ask BUT If you want to come off just drop 5mg and see how your body reacts. then do 5 mg at a time.. you may have to do 2 mg. but just do it slowly. Your body will tell you if your coming off to fast. joints, mood are the first signs I think. Keep me posted on how you do. I was on 60 MG and it took me a year to get off completely. Love & PrayersPeggy, IPF 2004 Well, the latest chapter in the Emory saga is that we can't get out of our driveway. The driveway rises from the connecting street, and as we are backing down and approaching the street, the SUV starts to slide downhill. Added to that, the connecting street is pure ice, and leads to a sharp curve which could lead to a fall off the mountain. Sooooooo, home we stay. Darn. I have now postponed this appointment twice, and Dr Staton has postponed once. I should have gone in the beginning of November; my rescheduled appt is January 22. I'm wondering if there is any issue with staying on 40 mg of prednisone for this length of time. Hmmmmmmm. B
Guest guest
Oh, yeah, Peggy - staying inside is the plan. Maybe in another hour or two the sun will melt the ice on the street (again) and we could think about going to the nearby store. But it'll freeze again overnight so......... As far as the prednisone, the appointment I keep postponing would be the first one to see what the prednisone is doing so far. I'm reluctant to cut back, and nervous to stay on it so long. I have three doctors on "my team" as THEY like to say. The pulmonologist at Emory is calling the shots, the local pulmodude is keeping up with things, and the local rheumy is the one supposed to be "keeping an eye on the prednisone issues" according to the Emory guy. Hard to know who to call. I guess I will send an email to the rheumy - she's pretty good about 'splaining things. Keep warm. Keep kicking. Keep smiling! Guest guest
I just want to pop in and say hi to you two gals. You sound like your 'old' self Peggy! (Pre the past few months). What a delight. I remember when it took you so long to finally get off the prednisone. BARB>>>>>>> I'm sorry to hear your trip has been delayed to a better time but I'm glad you are doing the safe thing! I'm sending continued prayers for Mike's head. Hopefully no more headaches for him and easy does it as you decrease the prednisone. Happy Holidays. MamaSher; IPF 2006, NSIP, PH 2009, OR.Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Guest guest
Barb, Just a thought...but you might be able to do a PFT at a pulmonary clinic closer to you if you have your doctor give you a referral. Then you could send the results to your pulmo in Emory and discuss any changes over the phone with him. C_53_Familial IPF_5/09, Washington HOPE doesn't disappoint!
