Guest guest
, my 2 cents worth, you sound perfect to me and I am sure your surgeon will agree as long as all of your lab work is good. Guest guest
Hi all! I feel like I know so many of you after lurking for months but I am officially a grad now as of today 12/30! I have a check up with my surgeon today, haven’t seen him since June or July, can’t remember which. Hope he isn’t disappointed in me, I know I’m not as I sit here in my size 14 Eddie Bauer button fly (gotta love employee discounts!)…. Year ago today I went into the or weighing 340 and so desperate for a solution. Surgery went really well, if I hadn’t been attacked by a kidney stone two days after going home I wouldn’t have any problems at all, spent another week in the hospital why they tried to figure out what was wrong with me, not totally sure but we are going with the story of the kidney stone. I am married with three small boys, ages 6,5 and 4, needless to say I needed to get my act together to be able to keep up with them. Some of the highlights of this year I can think of right now is when my oldest could hug me with his arms all the way around me. Wearing my husband’s jeans. Wearing some jeans that I have hauled around with me since high school. I took a part time job at a clothing store, something I would have never done before, one day I was trying on coats for a customer to help her decide what size to get her friend when she said, well you are smaller then her so I will go with one size bigger then you wear…. (I was thinking… me smaller.. then anyone????), oh, and me fitting in a medium to boot!! Working a nine hour shift on my feet and them not hurting at all. Another big step on the horizon is my best friend from high school is in the navy and they were home for Christmas, she wants me to come out in April for the Cherry Blossom 5K in Washington D.C., she wants us to run it together, me run…LOL.. I am really looking forward to it and it would be such a high for me to complete that, even if it is only 3 miles, a year ago I had trouble walking through the mall. I still have about 50 pounds to lose but I do know I will get there, with all the training I will be doing till April so I don’t embarrass myself I have a feeling the last 50 pounds won’t be hanging on much longer. I have learned so much from this group, I even made sure I got my dexascan done right after surgery. Thanks everyone for all the tips and education and look forward to being able to contribute now. Guest guest
Welcome to the group . I wouldn't worry to much about your surgeon. I have made wonderful progress especially if you are in those size 14 Eddie Bauers.
