Guest guest
, Thank you for your kind words. In my particular situation my grasp of the information is helped by the fact I am a nurse by education. Bruce is the man for very thorough research and he does a fabulous job with it. I think all of us here can understand the difficulty of adjusting to living with a life threatening lung disease. We all try to figure out what will help us, what will work to make our lives better and more comfortable. It's a process of trial and error for most of us. No two of us are going to do exactly the same thing and that's ok. I've been working closely on my diet with a nutritionist at Duke. I've been following an anti-inflammatory diet for almost a year. I have no way of knowing whether it's helping me but it's a healthy way of eating so I'm content to keep on doing what I'm doing. Someone else could follow a different plan and that would be perfectly valid. We're all different. I'm glad you are not giving up. Please just keep trying. We all wake up in the morning and gather our resources to live another day with this disease. It's not easy. Some have wonderful caregivers and that's a huge help. Others are on their own taking care of themselves. I fall into the latter category and as a matter of fact have my elderly parents living with me. I am more caregiver to them than anything else and that's ok. Maybe it helps me not think about my own problems as much as I would otherwise. Look after yourself and I hope you have a wonderful holiday! I am living my life in a hurry and my to-do list grows longer each day. I am trying to eliminate milk and milk products from my diet. I am building my daily diet around three cans of Pulmocare made by Ensure. I am holding my weight steady and my oxygen-meter gives good reports after a year of IPF. I do not defend milk and meat production; however, I wish I knew a lot more about the food that I should be using to stay even with my disease. These are not the best months of my life--I am not giving up. If you are able to focus and enjoy each day, I would bet you have one very caring and supportive care giver. It's sure been a matter ofmajor controversy in the industry and with vegetarians and moms.> > >> > >> > > From: Beth mbmurtha@> > > Subject: Spam> > > To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com> > > Date: Tuesday, December 22, 2009, 7:15 AM> > >> > >> > > ÂÂ> > >> > >> > >> > >> > >> > >> > > Good morning everyone.> > > There was a message posted to the board from amember named> Colleen McCloud.
