Guest guest
Patti It's standard and everyone with PF should have regular echocardiograms. The primary thing to look for is the possibility of Pulmonary Hypertension. Now, Pulmonary Hypertension can't actually be diagnosed from the echo but a high reading on the echo then calls for a right heart catheter (which isn't tough either). In my opinion, anyone with PF should have echos at least once a year. I am now on a schedule of every six months. At the same time they will see the general condition of your heart and detect any other potential issues with it. > > I just received a call from the University of Chicago and they want me to come back up for an echocardiogram. I was diagnosed in 2007 and have never had this done. I'm really scared. What are they looking for now?? Is this common? > > Patti Indianapolis IPF 2007 >

Guest guest
I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Hope you all are able to spend your time with family and friends. We are buckling down for a Blizzard the next couple of days, I will believe it when I see it. Suppose to get about 18 inches and the wind is suppose to blow 25-50 mph. I am just hoping all of my family and friends will be able to come to my house on Saturday. Invited about 30 people. Should be lots of fun. Thought this would be a good year to have Christmas for everyone since I'm feeling ok. Don't know how I'll be next year with my diffusion's dropping all the time. Yes I know I need to be positive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will try to be positive at least through out the holidays. I will also be done working the Jewelry store I have managed for the past 9 years is closing after 34 years in business(tomorrow is our last day for sales, and then we pack up stuff next week) I know I will feel better, no stress you know what I mean. My doctors suggested I apply for Disability so I started the process the first of the month we will see. Don't know who will hire me with my o2 tank. Which I need all the time. Would really like to keep working. Just don't know for how longOk that is enough of that should have been more uplifting for the upcoming days I will try to be better next time a rantHOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
