Life is too short to do something you hate. If you can do it financially, find something that you will feel satisfied and productive with. I am one of the lucky ones. I love my work. I am a music teacher and church choir director. I had to thread a few jobs together to make it work, but I love my life. Kim O
Guest guest
That is one of the problems....when I'm bored I start thinking about food...I have put on weight since I started this job....I'm hoping if I find something busier that I won't focus on food during the day and will start to loose again. Guest guest
Although this does not apply to everyone I think that when your MO you tend to settle for things. Whether it be relationships, jobs, or just plain old life. I think once the weight starts coming off and you start to focus on other things you realize that you did settle for things. I think that now you are like I am not settling for this and if a challenge is what you want then you tend to go after it more now than before. But with this also comes when you need to really think about what you want to do career wise. Find out and explore that. Your changing jobs may not be all wls related. It just might be that you need to find what you like and then go after that. in NC ===== In life we all have ups and downs. It is your choice of whether you stand up to the downs or sit down and enjoy the ups.

Guest guest
I'm in such a horrible dilemma with my job. I have the boss from hell, he has done everything he possible can do to get me to quit and I haven't left. I've worked at my company for over 13 years and he has been my boss for the last 5. He is truly a horrible person inside and out. I used to be top in my department and in great demand by all those in my company. (I'm a programmer/analyst. Many times over the years the manager has quit and I was always asked to fill in until they hired a new boss. I didn't want the position and frankly, I'm not sure they would have given it to me. We went about 2 years without a " boss " before this guy came up from one of our other divisions. In the past five years I've allowed myself to be treated in really unacceptable ways. He removed all of my duties and my skill level has sunk to just about worthless. I should have kept current with technology on my own by doing other projects. This past June he scared the hell out of me. He lost his temper and displayed very hostile and violent behavior towards me. That is a long story in and of itself. I filed a formal grievance with my company but they really poo poo'd it. At the time he told me it would be my word against his and that is how they see it. ly I'm terrified of making this change. I've never really been afraid to make a job change. While in my profession I've worked for many different companies and I've never been afraid to move around or jump to a new job. The city I live in is small and I would have to leave it to find a decent job. But it truly is time to move on, it has affected my confidence in my ability to a huge degree. For some reason I thought that if I lost the weight that he would treat me different . . . . sadly he does treat me different he is much more hostile. Sorry for the long post, this is one of my difficult life decisions and I think it's coming to head. Guest guest
Thanks Joanie. I'm studying mortuary science. I know, some people are either very supportive or are exceedingly appalled at the thought of it. I think I'm lucky, I woulnd't know about brave, guess that depends on where you're standing at any given moment. Thanks for that.
