Both STARbands and Hanger Bands are active bands.

Thanks for clarifying that. I always thought that Hanger Bands were active.

I suppose since different orthos use them with different degrees of training

it's entirely possible that an ortho could modify it to be used as a passive

band.

Molly, the reason I didn't go with Hanger (besides Cranial Tech's

reputation) is because the orthotist at Hanger in Edison, NJ, told me the

band was passive. I don't know if ALL Hanger helmets are, but that's what I

was told. So I went with the DOC Band for my son.
