Guest guest
Jodie - I told you about the time I pulled the NG tube out of my nose when I was VERY sick? That's when my dh knew I was getting better. I know your dad is going to do great - knowing about the tube! Thanks so much for keeping us updated - we've been thinking about him lots. - H > > hi all, > they did another MRI last night but this time they sedated him. they > found that not only did he have the brain bleed but he also has a very > large blood clot in a vein in his brain. they are going to put him on > a blood thinner to try and stop more from happening and hopefully > disvolve the clot. we have to wait and see. they are moving him out > of ICU to start his rehab and so my mom can bring his one dog there to > see him (they believe this will help him). he is alert today off and > on, he pulled out the NG tube last night and today he goes from being > combative to nice. > > jodie c >
Guest guest
hi all, the social worker from the hospital called my mom after she got home and told her they will be working on where to place him once the blood clot is taken care of. he will not be able to come home (probably never) he has to go to either a highly skilled nursing home or an accute care rehabilatation center. the one they are looking into is the kessler institute. there is one that is in chester, nj (about 34mins away) and west orange, nj (about 1hr away). we will see. this all really sucks!! and even with the therapy (which they said he is going to need exstensive) he still my stay paralyzed on his left side. jodie c

Guest guest
I am so sorry you are going through this Jodie. This must be so difficult. I lost my dad to cancer 10 years ago when I was 18 and my mom is now battling breast cancer. My thoughts are with you. mom to Autumn, Summer, Ocean, Skye > > > > > > hi all, > > > the social worker from the hospital called my mom after she got > home > > > and told her they will be working on where to place him once the > > blood > > > clot is taken care of. he will not be able to come home > (probably > > > never) he has to go to either a highly skilled nursing home or > an > > > accute care rehabilatation center. the one they are looking > into is > > > the kessler institute. there is one that is in chester, nj > (about > > > 34mins away) and west orange, nj (about 1hr away). we will > see. > > this > > > all really sucks!! and even with the therapy (which they said > he is > > > going to need exstensive) he still my stay paralyzed on his left > side. > > > > > > jodie c > > > > > >

Guest guest
Jodie c- I watched my grandma live 4 years after she had her stroke.. She kept her mental abilities and was able to do pretty well. The PT is key. Thought and prayers to you. > > >
