Guest guest
It's a whopping 28 right now. It got all the way to 17 yesterday. There's no way it's getting to the forecast 40 degrees today. And I'm not holding my breath for the 50 degrees it's supposed to be tomorrow. I just got done dragging 450 feet of hose into my house to thaw out so I can get water to my horses today. My bathroom is a furnace, with the central heat and the bathroom heater lit and on full blast...I hate winter. I love my horses, but not as much in winter. LOL. Guest guest
Two of my cats will have nothing to do with the snow, but Squeaker (who is 7.5 and should know better) had a fantastic time... Even encouraged the puppies to chase him and then laughed at them after climbing up the Japanese Maple. And then I laughed at him, because he got a big old face-full of snow for his trouble, and seeing him shake it off, knowing what was going to happen next (more snow dislodged by his efforts, also into the face) was too much for me. But he's a good sport, and stayed outside even after the Japanese Maple essentially lost ALL its snow on his poor little pretty black cat face. Luckily, the dogs are too young to know exactly HOW funny it was and didn't hang around to watch Squeaks get his snow shower. My daughter was less impressed by the heavy snowfall ( " it gets in my EYES, mommy " ) and it's amazing to me the stuff a 4 year old can find to complain about when what they really want is to glue to the sofa/TV for ANOTHER screening of Poppins. At least she wants to use my elliptical machine! Not quite heavy enough, marginally tall enough... I think she'll be on it and addicted in another year. Wish my mom had done that for me. Maybe she could put some on dry ice and have her cute UPS guy get it to you by overnight shipping! I had to have some fun with my kitties. They've never been outside (both born around March last year), but we took them outside and stood them in the snow. They just stood there. Poor Rufus the Fat had his belly hanging in the snow, which he did not like one bit, and Jack just made a bee-line back for the door. They're lying on the radiators looking out at the snowfall, but no longer looking as if they want to go out! ~~ Lyn
Guest guest
Well, I have to add the we here in WA don't do any better. LOL We have trouble driving in rain and heaven HELP us if the SUN comes out! LOL They get so busy looking at the sunshine, they forget to look where they are going. Oh well, there are still some states that can claim to have worse drivers then we do, but then that is another subject. Guest guest
Yep. I use to work as a customer service rep. I called in one day because my parking lot was a solid sheet of ice and by this point I was already over 400 lbs - not exactly a great combo. I was told that I wasn't going to get paid for it. Fine, I wasn't going to be any good dead. My job was not worth risking life and limb for. I just answered the phones.
