Guest guest
You may also want to look into a practitioner who knows how to use C-herb internally and/or TKM (the king method) or Jin Shin Jyutsu in your area. I hope I am not out of line stating this, and maybe it does not apply to you, but from my experience and knowledge it is worth taking a little time to look at places you may not be expressing yourself and holding/suppressing things you really need to say. ~ Janine Janine Burnham Ruth - " Make conscience choices based on what you believe and your life will be a reflection of who you are. This is not one of the most aggressive thyroid cancers (big sigh of relief) but any diagnosis of cancer can be anxiety provoking. I'm scheduled for a thyroidectomy on 10/28 but have found an alternative treatment I'd like to try beforehand. The thing is, I need to find someone who lives in the Denver, Colorado area in order to get the product. It's called Elsie's Ointment. I spoke with Elsie yesterday. She's an herbologist who made the product for herself after being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. I figure it's worth a shot. If there's anyone on this list in the Denver area who'd be willing to help, please email me. Thanks, Tamra in Gilroy ------------------------------------

Guest guest
Hi Tamra, I'm sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but it's good to know you have options for your treatment. Have you been able to check out these sites ? The folks there are as committed to healing as we are hear about healing our GI tracts, despite the often nonsense we have endured at the hands of doctors who have limited vision of our problems and what it takes to heal. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ This blog belongs to a woman who had thyroid cancer and has a different perspective about what her treatment should have been. I was on another email list with her and she is very knowledgeable and training to be a naturopath. http://ds-ladybugsandbees.blogspot.com/ Hope this helps, Sue
Guest guest
Marilyn, Was it thyroid cancer? And did you have the surgery? I'm delighted that there is now a documented link between Hashimoto's or goiter and this syndrome. Have had 3 or 4 biopsies over the past 10 yrs. and am SO tired of trying to gently tell docs in a way that they can HEAR that they're ignorant!! My clinic GP (i.e., presumably not the best 'cause this is the cut-rate gov't-sponsored doc) wants me off thyroid but the Yeast/BTVC gynecologist I've gone to for 25 yr. as well as a friend who's a gastroenterologist have me on it to suppress what appears to be a goiter. I had a friend who had thyroid cancer probably 20 yrs. ago, though, so I know that usually it's not too big a deal. Her challenge was having to go w/o thyroid hormone for a certain amt. of time and then fatigue till they could arrive at the right amt. of supplementation. You go, Girl! Current me: Global Carb and Fungal Problems well-controlled past 30 yr. by extremely low-carb, no dairy, no grains allergy/anti-yeast diet, SCD 01/05. After 35 yrs. no need for allergy shots since SCD! Magnesium/Vits A, B, D, E/Evening Primrose, Fish, Olive, and Other Oils, Lecithin. 2 grown kids recovered from serious developmental problems which I believe were fungally-caused. > > > > > Hi group, > > > > I haven't posted lately because I've been caught up with my new diagnosis of papillary thyroid cancer. Guest guest
You could also look into the Budwig diet (I've basically been doing that along with SCD in support of my Mum). It has a really amazing cure rate when followed correctly. Stacey > >I haven't posted lately because I've been caught > >up with my new diagnosis of papillary thyroid > >cancer. No, my cancer was endometrial (uterine) cancer. Ironically, it was probably caused by a couple of things: (1) the obesity that was caused by my gut issues resulted in fat which resulted in higher hormones, and (2) inflamation in my hips caused as a result of the sleep apnea which developed about six months after my gall bladder surgery. I understand apnea can develop after surgery with a general anesthetic, which kind of shocked my socks off. 2.5 years later, all my tests have been negative. I have 2.5 more years to go before I can be declared cancer free. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

For what it's worth I thought it was a really good movie about cancer (among other things). I would like to get his book too. Guest guest
Must admit that I haven't been paying rapt attention here so I apologize if this has been discussed already. But is the upshot that Armour Thyroid is okay? Or not? Lots of debate among docs, I've experienced. Thanks!! Artful Carol > > I just watched a movie called The Beautiful Truth. It's about Dr Gerson. Guest guest
In what sense do you mean is Armour thyroid OK? OK according to standard medical procedures? OK as far as fillers? Or what? Most regular doctors are indoctrinated by the drug companies to believe that only synthetic thyroid is any good. Yet natural thyroid was very effective for many decades before they invented synthetic, anda the more holistic docs feel it still is. My own experience is that synthetic does me no good at all, and the last time it was foisted off on me I got acne as a side effect (and I dont' have that kind of skin). As to fillers, they probably are not legal, they seldom are for prescription drugs. Last year there was some flap with Armour and they didn't make any for many months, so I switched to compounded and can use the filler I get along with. When Armour came back, I tried that again but they make fewer strengths now and I would need to split a tablet for one of my doses, and the tabs crumble into powder when I try. So I have just stuck to the compounded versions. Must admit that I haven't been paying rapt attention here so I apologize if this has been discussed already. Guest guest
Yes, *dripped* yogurt is perfectly fine. It's what we use at my home. It has to be mixed (like with an immersion blender) with flax oil until no oil is separated but it works just fine. We put it in smoothies in the morning (without any water added) to cover the flavor. This particular part of the Budwig diet will also help if you have to go through radiation...though there's more to it than just the FOCC protocol. I won't get into it more here though since it's an SCD board. Stacey > > You could also look into the Budwig diet (I've basically been doing that along > with SCD in support of my Mum). Guest guest
I think that my best advice is to join this yahoo group: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/FlaxSeedOil2/ They're fairly good at responding and as soon as you join you'll be sent several emails about the Budwig protocol, recommended menus, recipes, etc. They have a very well developed Files section. There are also books and a dvd that was surprisingly helpful. Word of warning though, if you google it just don't go to the Budwig center's website (in spain). It has a lot of wrong information. Really though the yahoo group was one of the biggest helps for me. Stacey > >You could also look into the Budwig diet (I've > >basically been doing that along with SCD in > >support of my Mum). I saw 'em try to make it almost impossible saying that pseudo-ephedrine causes brain bleeds. Give me a break! When I checked the research it did that, like, .0003% of the time. This, I believe, besides being about the manufacture of meth - which few of us are buying it to do - is about marketing. The drug companies can make a lot more from their other, far pricier, antihistamines!! My doc suggested that I alternate one Armour with 2 daily, though. I was surprised by that.
