OH MY GOSH! I've been waiting for someone to arrive on this board with this

problem! I had the exact same problem with this device. I was not informed

of any risks with this device. In fact, the brochure claims there are no

side effects. If you do a search on Dr. Jim Boyd who invented this

contraption, you'll see he conducts many get rich quick seminars for

dentists to fit patients at very little cost and charge up the butt fees. He

also gives dentists ideas on how to get insurance companies to pay these

ridiculous fees.

What really burns me up is my former dentist did not inform me of these

risks. In fact, when I asked if this could be the cause of my problem, he

said no. Well, after looking at the device, I was certain the form of the

NTI was the same as my newly recessed and dropped lower jaw. I got to

looking on the internet and found that in fact the device can cause this

problem.

Were you notified of any risks? Did you sign a patient informed consent

form?

I plan on contacting the FDA, who approved the device for marketing to let

them know there are problems. I'm also seeking other avenues and I have

about four inches worth of research I've done on this device.

I would love to discuss this with you further. If you're interested/willing,

please let me know.

Now that my blood has cooled a bit...where are you in your treatment? I've

been in braces since March 05 and will be having lower w/possible upper on

November 17.

Take care and I hope to hear from you soon.

Diane, Oregon
