Guest guest
Hi , I'm up north of you, east of Seattle, so I'm sorry I can't recommend someone in your area. But I can recommend a system I use to find information about a new doctor when we need one (if someone retires, dies, isn't satisfactory, etc). I do several things: first I will ask my alternative MD for recommendations, and often the nurses at my doctors are very good at this as well. Second, of course I ask friends if anyone is likely to know about the area I'm interested in (though none of my friends have gut troubles). And third, I call the offices of several doctors and talk to nurses and office staff. You can get a surprising amount of information about the doctor, how he practices, and how experienced he is in the area you need. How have you gone about a) figuring out who is in your area, selecting from among the choices, especially if none is particularly familiar with either IBD or SCD? Do any specialize in GI issues? Any other advice? I'm in Corvallis, Oregon, by the way. Thanks,
