Guest guest
Im looking at pictures of what they actually do to ur jaw to fix an underbite, and it looks as if the way they do it, they put the front part of your jaw back within the back part of ur jaw after they break it. Look at the underbite pic: http://www.oral-surgery-solutions.com/aaoms/orthsg4.html my question for people who had underbites corrected: Can u feel where the break is when u run ur hand down ur jaw? does it go away over time or what? Also... is relapse more probable with underbite or overbite or is it the same for both? Thanks. Chris.
Guest guest
I had an overbite, my lower jaw was moved forward 11 mm. I can feel where the jaw was cut and moved, it was very sore for two weeks after surgery. It doesn't hurt now, but there is an obvious bump on either side where the jaw was slid forward. I'm only eight weeks out, but considering my new jaw position is permanent, I don't expect those to go away. > Im looking at pictures of what they actually do to ur jaw to fix an > underbite, and it looks as if the way they do it, they put the front > part of your jaw back within the back part of ur jaw after they break > it. > > Look at the underbite pic: > http://www.oral-surgery-solutions.com/aaoms/orthsg4.html > > my question for people who had underbites corrected: Can u feel where > the break is when u run ur hand down ur jaw? does it go away over > time or what? > > Also... is relapse more probable with underbite or overbite or is it > the same for both? > > Thanks. > > Chris. Guest guest
I had an overbite, and I can feel the break in my bottom jaw on both sides when I run my fingers along my jawline. And ..I am 10 weeks post-op and my two bumps on each side have went away, so don't worry..yours will too! -Ash > > Im looking at pictures of what they actually do to ur jaw to fix > an > > underbite, and it looks as if the way they do it, they put the > front > > part of your jaw back within the back part of ur jaw after they > break > > it. > > > > Look at the underbite pic: > > http://www.oral-surgery-solutions.com/aaoms/orthsg4.html > > > > my question for people who had underbites corrected: Can u feel > where > > the break is when u run ur hand down ur jaw? does it go away over > > time or what? > > > > Also... is relapse more probable with underbite or overbite or is > it > > the same for both? > > > > Thanks. > > > > Chris.
