Guest guest
I've been using safflower oil but someone told me it's not a healthy oil b/c it's so high in omega 6. What do you think? Sometimes I use it when I need an oil that doesn't have much flavor. Guest guest
Hi - it's tough to have to worry about so many things at once- SCD is hard enough and then you can factor in lots of other dietary issues- such as Omega-6 intake. That being said, I am one of those people that tries to keep the Omega 6-3 balance into consideration. I eat fish as much as I can and make sure to take fish oil when I eat nuts or avocados (also very high in Omega 6). While it would be tough for me to give up nuts, for example, it's easy to make choices with oils. So long story short, personally (and I emphasize *personally*) I would use a different oil. I stick to Olive oil and butter (which is the best choice). -Joanna SCD 9/2009, Crohn's 1992, 20mg Prednisone > > I've been using safflower oil but someone told me it's not a healthy oil b/c it's so high in omega 6.
