Sorry to hear about Austin.

Im going to assume he has the cows milk protein allergy(not lactose).

This is what Liam has and we carry an epipen because it is so severe.

Liam has been on neocate since he was 11 months. I cant remember if

the first one was jr but he is now on advance for older kids. The

first one use to taste horrible then they changed it and it was

almost regular formula tasting, the advance is just plain horrible.

I have been trying to remember where my list of formulas is. It has

all the different formulas available what they are used for and why.

I will try and get it to you tomorrow. Im sure it is just what you

want.

Is Austin having many solids ? and have you tried him with rice milk

which is usually available at supermarkets or health food shops.

I hate to tell you this but did you know milk allergies have been

connected to reflux? Has Austin been tested for reflux.

Will find that info tomorrow, isnt he lucky to have you for his

gran!!!

Pat,

Max had the same allergies. He was put on Peptamen, Jr. and did

well. But he did not have to drink them. He was tube fed at the

time. I don't think I'd like to drink that stuff, either.

Pat! Oh my gosh - you are not going to believe this....while Ian

was in the hospital this week for his surgery - we just so happen to

have a room-mate this time for a child that has the following issues

(poor thing) extreme allergies to milk and soy, albuminum (sp?)

disease, and Syndrome. This poor little girl - she was

having diarreah for 6 weeks and was still having it at the

hospital. They put her on the Neocate Jr - and she didn't like it

either. But, they tried these flavor packets such as chocolate,

banana, and strawberry and that seemed to help her get it " down " . I

can call her tomorrow at the hospital (I know she will still be

there for sure) and ask her some questions if you need me to. I

think they were getting the results of some tests back and I was

going to check in on her anyway. Let me know. This is so difficult

I understand from what the mom was telling me and I'm sure she might

even appreciate knowing she's not alone (unfortunately though -
