Guest guest
Molly, THank u so much for the support..THis site has been great for me, I wished I had found it sooner during the other 3 surgeries..I have contacted a lawyer but they say its very hard to win against a doctor..Now that they are saying I prob broke the plates due to grinding at night, I dont know if I would have a case...to me he the first surgeon knew up front I grinded my teeth and why did it take 3 surgeries to say OH yeah, you grind your teeth lets make you a bite guard, and then never call me back and tell me lets just watch the jaw and said it may tightnen up on its own..which it had already been 6-7 after the 3rd sugery, bones heal in 6-8 wks, nothing new would happen afer 6 months....but the new surgeon figured it out at my conultation and said we will wire you shut to help you not to grind and to let bones heal..also I know the first surgeron knew that if you grind your teeth your prone to relapse and should of known to do something else except repeating the same surgery the same way 3 times...or thats my opinion...again thaks for the support, I spend hrs on the site everyday.. thanks Jill mtbmolly wrote: Hi Jill, You've been through quite an oreal with your botched surgeries. I'm amazed at your strength, but sad for you as well. I think you would have quite the winning case if you were to attempt to sue your original surgeon. What disturbes me is the following, from one of your previous posts: Mu husband isnt really supportive of all these surgeries..he thinks I did it for cosmetic reasons.. As if you haven't been through enough already. Please know that there are many people on this site who understand and will provide you with the support you need. Please keep us updated on your condition, as you heal. Best wishes, MTB Molly 10/3/05 Upper/lower/turbinate sugery to cure OSAj P.S. Guest guest
Jill - I'm sorry you have had to undergo so much surgery for something that should have been dealt with in a different way. I know how frustrated you are, to say the least. I'm not a doctor (but I am in the medical profession), but I doubt you broke your plates by grinding your teeth. Doctors like to use any excuses they can so they can escape responsibility for their actions. Your surgeon #1 really is at fault for this, and who knows how many other patients he has harmed. I think you should make a formal complaint to your state medical society - he is negligent and needs to be dealt with. Also, a complaint to the Better Business Bureau - at least get a complaint filed. Surgeon #2 seems to be competent, BTW. Sorry for your pain. Take care. ~~~~ Diane (Idaho) > > > > > > > > > > Hello everyone! I'm just now starting the whole process on > > what > > > seems > > > > > to be a long journey ahead.
