This is a major surgical procedure. It seems to me that you would want medical

specialists nearby in case of complications...........(heart attack, etc.)

If it were me, I would choose the hospital.

That's basically what I did, and it was fine. As long as you feel your

surgeon and his team is highly competent. Mine was, and also his

office is in a professional medical building right across the street

from the hospital. Going home the same day was fine -- we went back to

the hotel and slept for several hours, then watched TV. My friend took

care of me and I was able to function just fine. Luna

It's your decision but I would prefer the hospital. It's nice to know

that if something bad happens all the resources and possibly extra

physcians are right there with you. Don't make this decision lightly.

Hi, i just had my lower jaw surgery, and was in NO fit state to go

anywhere for at least 2 days post op. I would definately advise you

to go to hospital, where you can be properly looked after and

monitered closely, eg blood pressure and o2 sats.

Hope this helps

ask your docs what they recommend, and how available they will be

to you, and whether they recommend that you have a trained caregiver

to tend you.

It depends on what kind of work you're having done, the extent, and

how you react. Folks who have unsuspected bleeding issues, or wind

up with a lot of pain, need a lot of help. I do believe I could have

gone home a lot sooner than my 24 hours -- but hey -- how many times

in my life am I gonna have my face rearranged? It's worth being

careful, in my o.

Do you have a family medical person -- nurse, doc, etc., -- who can

be helpful if you find troubles? If not, I'd opt for the hospital,

at least for 24 hours, until you see where you land.
