Guest guest
Cindy, I know from experience that Delta also has smaller seats. American has more roomy seats. Not sure what airlines you have to choose from. Stacey
Guest guest
Dear Cindy, I've flown many times and I was a wide 310 pounds. I found it helpful to check in REAL early. Ask for a isle seat, tell the check in desk you'll need a belt extension and then be one of the first to board the plane. You can ask if it's at all possible to leave the seat next to you open. They can't guarantee it and of course buying two seats does make that a guranteed thing. Although to other people they see a empty seat and if you don't tell them you bought two they might want to move from where they are and comandeer your extra. I'd be a little shy to tell them no. But that's me. Boarding early means you're not wading past people who are trying to get seated. Keep your take on stuff to a minimum and don't drink tons so you don't have to go to the potty too often. I would also remind the attendant as I got on the plane that I needed the extension just in case they had to get it. Don't always rely on the counter person passing the information along. Even is the extension isn't absolutely necessary it keeps you from feeling like to don't fit into the belt. And once you're in the air undo the belt and lift the arm between your seat and the next person for a little extra room. Good luck and have a nice trip. Alice 310/188 11/11/02 California LAP/RNY Subject: Flying .....I need advice. I have to get plane tickets for my trip to Washington. I'm going round and round with myself about whether or not to buy 2 plane tickets because of my size. I'm 5'4 and weight a little under 300. The airline has been no help. I don't fly very often and have a lot of anxiety about it to begin with, I just want to avoid problems once I get on the plane with someone telling me I'm to big. Thanks, Cindy ________________________________________________________________________
