Guest guest
Hi, First, have you discussed this with your surgeon or ortho yet? You should. The surgeon especially needs to know this. Not that it's something you should panic about, but your surgeon should know. Second, you are still very, very early in your recovery. Don't expect everything to work perfectly yet. Your body is still healing. For comparison: I had similar surgery (upper impaction, lower advancement plus genio) 3 years ago, and after 2.25 years, mentioned to my ortho that I was having a bit of a crunching sound on the right side, sometimes a dull thud. He explained that the jaw joints were still remodelling, so not to worry. And to come back if there was any pain. There's been no problem in the last 6-8 months. Hope that helps, > I am now 6 weeks post op. I had a leforte 1 and a lower jaw > advancement. It seems to me like my right jaw has healed a bit faster > than my left. Should I be worried? This isn't movement of plate right?
Guest guest
Hi, I'm sorry. I can't answer your question, but I hope someone else will and I'm interested to hear the outcome so please keep us posted. I'm a newbie at this site and I enjoy reading everyone's emails. But I must say that the language is a little hard to follow. I don't know yet what all these procedures and lingo are. I'm particularly interested in the lefort 1 procedure. I'm curious as to why you had the lefort done. I was told to get a lefort 1 if I wanted to solve my long-face, gummy smile problem. I so wish there was a simpler solution. This lefort thing sounds so risky, painful, and horrific. Are you finding otherwise? How did you find the courage to go through with it? I wish you the best and congratulate you on taking the plunge. I hope you get the results you desire. --- wragen22 wrote: > I am now 6 weeks post op. I had a leforte 1 and a > lower jaw > advancement. Guest guest
Thanks for the replys. I will talk to my os as soon as I see him. To tell you the truth the leforte 1 isn't as horrible as it sounds. I was looking at some case studies the other day that had pictures of the procedure being done and I was thinking to myself " I can't believe they did that too me. " I would say the lower advancement is what gives more discomfort. There really isn't much pain about after the 3rd day. > > > I am now 6 weeks post op. Guest guest
Look in the links, fils and database, and you'll find more info on the various surgery procedures. Most people tend not to check in this places. The LeForte I, II and III, I think have to do with the height of the cut. C > > > I am now 6 weeks post op.
