Hi Amy,

I had my surgery 3 months ago I had upper jaw surgery and nose job the same

milkshakes and soup.

My surgeon was happy to do my nose and cheek bones the same time as jaw surgery.

I also had a bone graft taken from my hip which slowed things down a bit for me.

I was told that I would have to take 6-10 weeks off wor due to my job ( i'm a

nursery nurse).

My jaws aren't wired shut but next week they will be banded shut for a few

weeks.

heh, im in the same boat as you.. im having surgery the 12th and going

to school on the 24th.

you'll be happy to know that generally lower jaw recoveries go

smoother in general than upper jaw recoveries.

Hey there...I've had upper and lower surgery and am about 19 days post

op...my jaws are completely wired together and have been this whole

time...i quickly discoverd that anything with seeds or fruit pulp

would not work to eat...if you want any suggestions for things and

some random recipes feel free to email me at peace_frog21@...

and I'll give you some ideas of things to eat. it's not been too

bad...the most frustrating thing is not being able to communicate well

with others...my parents understand some things i'm telling them but

most things i have to write down or type on my laptop for them to see

what i'm trying to say...i'm starting to get hungry though for real

food... the first couple of weeks weren't bad but this week i've been

like oo i want some bread or ooo pizza would be tasty...or ooo i wish

i could eat the vegetables in the soup and not just the broth...but it

will soon be over...hopefully anyway...if you have any more questions

about my experience feel free to email me....and good luck! --ashley
