Guest guest
H, Thanks for your kind words. I have let Jonah been pricked one too many times by people without experience with teeny tiny arms.. No more..A guess this time I was hopeful because she is Dr. H's resident. A long time ago, when he needed to have an MRI, they tortured him so that I went to the NICU and begged the nurses to come and do the IV. I knew them because it was a Mt. Sinai and that is where Jonah was born. Well, we are excited about the GH, but of course very nervous. Your advice about getting the kids involved was great! I am hoping that will be the answer for us> , Jonah's mom Re: Dr.H appointment and other stuff > - congrats on your walkathon! Sounds like you had a great > day! Guest guest
Hi Jodie, Good to hear from you and glad to know that 's eating has improved again. Dr. H. does possess some kind of spell on the kids!! I have been reading about your dad's progress. Just know that we are thinking of you and your family. I have not made Jonah's appointment yet, I have to give Yadira a call. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Guest guest
- of course you are welcome. You know - I'm kinda mean (lol) I always threaten " nicely " to whoever is doing the blood draws that they aren't allowed to " fish " and they are only allowed to stick once. I get nasty looks, comments, etc. all the time - but, you know what - that's life. My son's comfort and happiness is more important than their self-esteem. As a matter of fact, I generally (unless it's a physician) tell everyone that I demand a NICU/PICU or anesthesiologist to draw the blood! Keep us posted! - H > > > > > > Hi all, > > > First of all, I want all of you who are going through hard times, > > we have been thinking and praying for you. Guest guest
Hi , I know the experience with the 2 hour OGTT. had it done in August and by the time they got us from the waiting room and in the back, and got started it was 9:45. She too was fasting since midnight. She screamed so bad and everytime they came into draw blood but we never saw Dr. H until we were leaving and just to say hello. I'm glad you had a good visit otherwise and a great walk a thon. Dr. H. came in at 9:30AM and was upset and said that it was too late to do the test since Jonah had to eat. He had been fasting since midnight the night before. Dr.H. drew the blood with no problem and at least got the baseline blood work done so we can begin GH. This is the last time, I will let someone with no experience with little arms and veins, touch him. He is still black and blue. Anyway, Jonah gained weight and should be starting GH in a few weeks once the insurance goes through. Also, just wanted to let you all know that we(Jonah on his bike) did a 10 mile walkathon and we are now collecting our $$. It was a great day!! Thinking of all of you. , Gene and Jonah
