Guest guest
Hi all, So do people use dehydraters to make yoghurt, do they work well, I was thinking of ordering the Yo Gourmet electric yogurt maker but dont want to use plastic jars as fear the plastic would leach and dont want to order glass because it would need to be shipped international as I am an Aussie. I imagine I would get a glass jars in a thousand pieces. Just like to get some feedback on how people find them before I spend the dosh they seem pretty pricey. thanks again. Guest guest
greg, I dont know about the yo gormet but I use the Excalibur dehydrator and I just buy jars from Woolworths with screw lids. When the indise of the lids breaks down a bit, i use plastic wrap over the jar and under the lid. I have not had any problems with this. I also but starter from Cheeselinks, and it gets sent from Melbourne to me in Sydney, with a cooler pack. jena Hi all, So do people use dehydraters to make yoghurt, do they work well, I was thinking of ordering the Yo Gourmet electric yogurt maker but dont want to use plastic jars as fear the plastic would leach and dont want to order glass because it would need to be shipped international as I am an Aussie. Guest guest
They actually have more than one if you look at all of them. I buy the one without bifidus. jena On Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 11:41 AM, Anne-Marie Barbour <barbour.am (AT) gmail (DOT) com> wrote: I also but starter from Cheeselinks, and it gets sent from Melbourne to me in Sydney, with a cooler pack. I'm assuming so. <g> My friend in Perth maintains it's pretty civilized, although people from the rest of the country might disagree. What you might wish to do is to email Lucy and ask about the international shipping, and what she would recommend. I know, by the way, that Excalibur does make a dehydrator suited to 220 current, so that is the one you would want if you got one of those. Then you could use regular 1 liter containers and put up to eight of them in the Excalibur to make your yogurt. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
I was presuming the glass jars would be the exact specs for the electric canister, rather then just any glass jar, I ride a kangaroo to work but To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Thu, 19 August, 2010 1:36:12 PMSubject: Re: Excalibre Dehydrator Questions or Electric Yoghurt Maker At 06:51 PM 8/18/2010, you wrote: So do people use dehydraters to make yoghurt, do they work well, I was thinking of ordering the Yo Gourmet electric yogurt maker but dont want to use plastic jars as fear the plastic would leach and dont want to order glass because it would need to be shipped international as I am an Aussie. I should think it'd be a toss up as to whether the bumps in the road are worse than the 'roo bouncing. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
