I'm just glad NC is getting it today and tomorrow so it will be clear by

the time I drive there next week.

sure lots of people around here are going to have power outages. They

are still trying to clean up after the last storm. Are you getting

snowed on? How about your son in Boone?

wow

it's super cold here in southeast pa, but no snow at this time

need to check the forecast

amazing

people leave the northeast for the carolinas to get away from cold snowy weather

now the carolinas have the cold snowy weather

is that an oxymoron???

And a few days ago we were colder here in Texas than either of

you....Oh, I long for the days of South Florida when a day it didn't hit

70 was considered a cold snap. Some years you'd not need heat and some

years you might turn it on for a few hours or even a day. lol

I got one of the cold masks too from icanbreathe. I'll be taking coats,

sweaters, scarf, heavy hat. No boots-don't have any. And can't find my

gloves but they're something easy to pick up along the way. Worse aspect

of traveling in the cold is when you need to fill up with gas. Normally,

I let it run pretty low and then just fill it. In the cold I'm more

inclined to make sure at least I'm doing it in the warmer time of the

day. This is another one of my obvious post-retirement trips as I always

had to plan every detail in the past but this trip I don't know where

and when outside of one day of appointments. I have a general plan. I

don't even know for sure where I'll be when I need to refill my

reservoir but have the various offices located and will call when I

figure it out.

The last two years I've had 3 feet of snow on the ground and on my roof. This year there has been practically nothing and they aren't expecting anything but a few snow showers. I love it.Beverley Joy,71,PF, Chronic HP, birds and mold 1-09,Sjogren's,Fibromyalgia Idaho

No mountains for me...especially since you threw rocks on the roads.

Normally I would come back through the mountains and then on through

Tennessee. Guess if I wanted mountains could go the City route

but I think this time of the year I'll stick to the more southern and

less mountainess paths. I've driven through the NC mountains from

Chattanooga back to Greensboro during a very very bad ice and snow storm

and it wasn't fun.

Hi Barb,

I actually just got home. My sister and I along with a friend went out for dinner and then to see Mama Mia at the Durham Performing Arts Center. It was a wonderful fun evening, though the snow added an element of anxiety we managed to get home fine.

It is snowing now with about 3 inches or so on the ground. They are saying we'll get 8-12 inches....we'll see. It's still snowing up in Boone, I think they're supposed to get 14 or 15 inches. Yikes. This winter just won't quit.

Stay warm and safe and lets just hope the power stays on!

Wow - that was brave of you. Once I hear "snow", I get inside and stay there. But I'm sure you did not want to miss "Mama Mia" - that would be a tough choice to make.

Here we now have 8 inches of snow on the ground and air temp is 32 degrees. A light rain is falling, forming a crust on the snow. Sigh. It ain't over yet!

Hey Barb,

It's currently sleeting here and we've got about 7 or 8 inches of snow on the ground. It's pretty, just don't make me go out in it. (Let's not even discuss my dog walking adventure this morning. It wasn't pretty)

The show was really great. Abba was HUGE when I was in high school so it brought back tons of memories for the three of us. (I hadn't seen the movie) We've had the tickets for over a month so short of the show being cancelled we were going. The theater is downtown in Durham, maybe 5 or 6 miles away. We were home before the roads got too bad.

Stay warm and snug. I don't anticipate being able to go much of anywhere till later tomorrow at the earliest.

As a newcomer, I read a lot of chit chat that has nothing to do with IPF. Is

there a way to find specific topics of discussion re the disease?

I took part in a drug study thru s-Hopkins using the drug Thalidomide. It

controls the cough in many of us. Will be happy to share info.

Have specific questions of my own.

Best thing is to just fire away with your questions. As to searching for

topics, you can try the yahoo search on the forum messages page but it's

not in good working order right now so gives you on partials and not the

most recent archives.

Perhaps you'd start by sharing your name so we have some way to address

responses to you.
