Guest guest
Thank you for your feedback! Basically, the short of my situation is, without surgery, my problem would be fixed about 75%, with the chance of reverting back a little after I have braces off. With the surgery, the problem would be fixed 100%, without reverting back. My orthodontist says 75% is a long way that I have come, and that would be great improvement. He doesnt think surgery is necessary. My surgeon (obviously) thinks surgery is the way to go. I get mixed opinions from everyone I know. I know in my hert that the right decision is to do the surgery, and just get it done. However, for personal reasons, it is hard to make that call. I thought that after 8 months, the insecurity I feel about my braces would wear down, but it hasn't. I have great friends, but I can't help that I feel so self-conscious about myself, and it changes the way I act around people. It sucks to have braces for the last 1.5 yr of college, and I definitely didnt sign up for this with that in mind. I know I should have this surgery, but it is hard to choose the right thing, when I could be done with this by December. But even with surgery in early October, I will have braces on 6 months after, and this is only a 4 month difference, surgery vs. non surgery. Right now I am leaning toward surgery... Really, at this point I dont like either one of my options, and I just get upset thinking about the entire mess. Basically, I hate it when I can't control the situation! this isn't the first time of course... Anyway, I think my posts are turning into vent sessions, so feedback is great, but it feels nice just to get it all out there! > > Hi Clare, > > I can say I understand your frustration. Guest guest
Clare, Always follow what's in your heart! Aim higher instead of settling for less! You can do it and you are so so close!! My treatment originally started with an 18 month plan and now I am 30 months into this process with at least another 10 or more to go. I am not looking back at this point only looking forward. With that said, hang in there and keep your outlook positive and realize that this is such a small price too pay for a lifetime of beautiful smiles! Hugs to Ya, --Caboose > > > Hi all, > > > I was actually supposed to have my surgery august 8th, and it > > keeps getting > > > pushed back.
