Guest guest
i wish i could remember the name but i was given one that was NOT legal and i told by 2nd gi (left him quick!!!) that even people with only 8 ft of intestine can handle this - well... it's the sickest i've ever been !!!! so be careful!!!!!!!! eileen 2 years 9 months scd > > Hey, > > My GI says that he can put me on an elemental diet to really give my intestine rest if my condition continues to worsen (I'm having diarrhea and abdominal pain right now). I'm okay with this because in the beginning of BTVC Elaine says an elemental diet follows the same principles as the SCD, but I was wondering, is there an elemental diet drink or brand or maker that best conforms with someone trying to follow the SCD? > > Thanks a lot for anything you've heard or can offer, > Jack >
Guest guest
I just started http://absorbplus.com/ It is not fully SCD, but the least sugar and junk filled one that I have seen. I have only been on it a couple days so I can't comment on it yet. The taste is definitely ok. > > > > Hey, > > > > My GI says that he can put me on an elemental diet to really give my intestine rest if my condition continues to worsen (I'm having diarrhea and abdominal pain right now). Guest guest
It is definitely SCD illegal. It has a huge amount of carbs per serving and contains carageenan (illegal). Just know that this product is not compatible with SCD and if you are using it, you are not fully on SCD. SCD was never intended to go against your doctor's recommendation. Some people may be so sick that an elemental diet is all they can do and if that is what your doctor recommends, it may be the best for you at the moment, but eventually one has to eat real food. The intro diet is a good way to get back on real food when you can eat and also start to get the benefits of SCD. That is how I started the SCD. For a while, all I seemed to tolerate was Boost (illegal) and I wanted to start real food but I had no idea how to do that. Then I found SCD and was able to progress to eating a lot over time. I think if one went from the elemental diet back to the SAD, one would feel pretty terrible quickly. Just know that any time you use an illegal product, you are not on SCD. It only takes a small bite of an illegal to have a bug party in your gut.
