My stomach objects violently when using bicarbonate and too much salt and honey,

so I substitute most of the ingredients in the SCD electrolyte drink recipe. I

use ELyte too, much more diluted than what is recommended because of the salt

content. I have learned that I need to make my own electrolyte drink to focus on

the few minerals I need more of, so that some days I use Elyte, and other days I

use my homemade electrolyte drink.

I use a combination of magnesium and potassium, plus about a third of the salt

as called for in the recipe. I either use liquid magnesium and potassium (from

BodyBio) or I use a capsule of magnesium glycinate and empty out the powder, or

crush potassium tablets. I don't measure precisely, but I would guess that for

32 oz. of water I use 150 mg of magnesium glycinate and 50 mg. or less of

potassium. Salt is about 1/4 tsp.

I don't use honey, for several reasons. If my electrolytes are crashing I drink

diluted fruit juice separately, about 20 minutes after the minerals. Then I eat

a small amount of heavily-salted cooked veggies, since I usually need more

sodium as well as extra carbs to keep my insulin levels from fluctuating to

extremes from the fruit juice.

The ingredients listed in the majority of electrolyte drink recipes are: water,

potassium, sodium, glucose, baking soda/bicarbonate, or any other combination.

Some mention magnesium, and a few other minerals.

Hi, Kim

Just wondering that where did you buy E-Lyte? Did you buy it from the major drug

stores or you have to order it online?

Thank you
