Guest guest
Thanks Mara, this looks awesome. I am going to try it--as this is a recurring problem in my life. I also thought about trying the Carlson Vit e supps. I'll let you know. Guest guest
H Terri, I also shifted from D to occasional C and it was a surprise to me too. I haven't itched, but I do use the Carlson's vit e suppositories regularly. Hope you feel better, PJ > > > > > > > I've been suffering for 2 weeks now! > > > > I have always thought these were related to hemmorhoids. > > When I was pregnant, I always suffered too. > > > > I did have an episode of a one time shocking red blood on the t.p. when I wiped approx 3-3 weeks ago without any recurrence. > > > > I am using Tuck's pads and they help for a short while.( Stinging!) > > > > I always use baby wipes to clean up , but they are stinging a little at the moment--though they have no alcohol. > > > > Does anyone have any suggestions or tried and true remedies? > > Hey Terry, > > Glad you are otherwise doing well. Guest guest
Last Sunday I woke up in the middle of the night itching!! The itching has bothered me for a week now and it keeps me up at night. I have also had more solid BM's for a longer duration of time than I've had in a while. So, I'm happy...but itchy at the same time!! Don't know if I should be happy or mad! I've just been using Prep H. I've never paid any attention to the Vit. E discussions. So, vitamin E suppositories help hemorrhoids? Can you only get those online? Guest guest
Very occasionally I get a bit of bleeding from a hemmorhoid (when C), and those Vit E supps are always VERY soothing. I'd be real careful of the tea tree oil on tender areas. For me, I can't dilute it enough not to feel like battery acid, but I have very very delicate skin everywhere so it may be OK for others. Just be careful on this one. Thanks Mara, this looks awesome. I am going to try it--as this is a recurring problem in my life. I also thought about trying the Carlson Vit e supps. I'll let you know. Guest guest
In my world, anal itching is symptomatic of my candida getting worse. Yogourt would probably help if its bacterial too. I'm going to try that; thanks for the idea Terry. fiona > > > > Thanks PJ and June and Mara. > > I got to thinking about what Mara said about using an antibacterial and I thought hmmmm......people say they put the yogurt on skin lesions they have and it's antibacterial, so I got a little crazy ( having your a** itch will make you a little crazy) and I applied some yogurt with a Q-tip last night. It stung a little bit. > > Maybe it's the placebo effect, but I seem a little better today. > I'll keep on and see if it improves with time. > But I am going to get some Vit E supps to help with the tenderness there. > > Thanks. > > Terry >
Guest guest
I notice that when I'm constipated, it's not the rectal/anal that itches, but the skin over the tailbone. Intense itch. And sometimes would feel like it was going to split, kind of burning, stinging. Would never think to connect the two, but it only comes when I have the big C. (Crazy things that seem to be related to the gut issues, or side effects) > > I've been suffering for 2 weeks now! > > I have always thought these were related to hemmorhoids. > When I was pregnant, I always suffered too. > > I did have an episode of a one time shocking red blood on the t.p. when I wiped approx 3-3 weeks ago without any recurrence. > > I am using Tuck's pads and they help for a short while.( Stinging!) > > I always use baby wipes to clean up , but they are stinging a little at the moment--though they have no alcohol. > > Does anyone have any suggestions or tried and true remedies? > > I am not having any UC symptoms. > > I have had some mild C on and off in the last few weeks--which totally amazes me--with UC I have always gone the other way and have never had C. Guest guest
There is another possibility here- anal fissures. Have you guys heard/experienced these? I get them a lot- especially when I have lots of D and I am vigorously cleaning the area a lot. They are basically little tears in the skin of the anus. They are itchy, irritating and painful all at once. I hate them! Everyone here has suggested some great natural remedies. But, if anyone is looking for something stronger, I have a nitroglycerin cream compounded that has been a life saver!!!! It soothes and heals them very quickly. They will go away for me in a matter of days when I use it. Here is what my label reads: 60 CPD NITROGYCERIN / PET Oint 0.2% (Apply as directed twice daily for four weeks) -Joanna SCD 9/2009, Crohn's 1992, 20mg Prednisone > > I notice that when I'm constipated, it's not the rectal/anal that itches, but the skin over the tailbone. Guest guest
Hi,I have been having the anal rectal itching and stinging as well...I put some of my home made yogurt on last night----boy did it sting, but today it seemed a bit better--still stingy, so i'm wondering too if the yogurt helped. btw I am currently on keflex for something different and thought this was causing an imbalance in the gut.....Juniata G dx ibs 2002 self dx crohns 2009 ____________________________________________________________Globe Life Insurance$1* Buys $50,000 Life Insurance. Guest guest
<<I am going to try it--as this is a recurring problem in my life.>> Terry, please DO report as to how the olive leaf spray works. It seems like an awful lot of us have this itching/burning from time-to-time. I must say that I haver have it unless I've cheated on my diet! Artful Carol > Thanks Mara, this looks awesome. Terry, Sorry to be so slow on this. Busy weekend. I have had itches like that which drove me crazy. I finally concluded that I wasn't getting the area clean enough with just wiping, and bought myself a shower bidet which allows me to rinse the area after each movement, and then pat dry with tissue. Guest guest
If you do think it's yeast, you can buy the cream used for vaginal yeast infections at the drug store and apply it to your tush. Guest guest
Thanks Marilyn and PJ, I have a bidet that I installed when we built the house 12 years ago--I don't use it that much! But, I do know that yes, I itch if I only use t.p.--then when I wipe with baby wipes I see that it is indeed still slightly soiled. So, I will try rinsing on the bidet after that--I won't use soap, the thought makes me cringe. I have evolved to the thought after reading everyone's contributions that I might possibly have subclinical yeast and will try to treat it topically as well per PJ's suggestion. Thanks for everyone's suggestions. Terry
Guest guest
What I use is the generic version of Tucks (individual pads with witch hazel on them). Much gentler then TP, and cleans better. Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > >Maybe it's the placebo effect, but I seem a little better today. > > Terry, > > Sorry to be so slow on this. Busy weekend. I wouldn't use soap with the bidet! Just plain water works wonders. The topical treatment suggested sounds good, too. (And your own idea of using some yogurt was worthwhile.) You might also consider a couple of weeks of s. boulardii to help with getting rid of the possibility of sub-clinical yeast issues. Guest guest
I have a chicken cordon bleu crock pot recipe that calls for cream of chicken soup OR making a roux: --1 T butter--3 T flour (Pamela's)--1/2 cup low-fat milk (soy in our case)--1/2 cup chicken broth--1/4 t salt--1/4 t black pepper I'll just use thinned yogurt for the milk, but will almond flour make a roux? Thanks! Marla
