" Most of the time the term " wheat " in those products refers to basically " white " flour that is brown in color. You have to have the words " whole " on the label in the ingredients to get the fiber. It's the fiber content that turns some of those " bad " carbs into " good " carbs. Back away from the Wheat Thins!!! Guest guest
If you're going to eat Wheat Thins (I avoid them because they're a trigger food for me, like Ritz crackers), then put cheese or some other protein on them. That way you'll be getting some protein in and you'll eat less of them because you'll fill up faster. Guest guest
Robin, It's not a matter of someone telling you that Wheat Thins are " good " or " bad " . . . same with the Ritz. ANY FOOD that causes you to eat uncontrolably is a food to avoid. The same could be said for fruit or cheese or other so-called healthier foods. CONTROL is the key word. For myself, I do eat Wheat Thins. Not every day. When I do eat them it is as an a compliment to my meal, such as a couple ounces of cheese with 6 or 8 wheat thins. Same said about potato chips. If I have a hankering for a few chips, I'll have them with my turkey and cheese roll up. IMHO, as long as protein in the major ingredient to my meal I don't sweat it. As for the coldness . . . I do get extremely cold but not to the point of numbness. I would suggest a visit to your PCP to rule out Raynaud's or circulatory issues. Take care! Rev.
