Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am the one that sent a post the other day about feeding tube confusion with our ped. GI. He is making the button sound like it is more maintenance and keeps talking about the balloon busting. Before we had the surgery we asked about the button and he said we would get it in 2-3 months. Now he is telling us or making it sound like it is bad. I have a few questions: 1. Did everyone here get the button type of tube? 2. Did anyone here get a the tube like we have then have another procedure and then get the button? 3. How often or how easy do they bust? Also, I keep hereing how much more energy their child has and how they can keep up with their peers, but we have not noticed a big change in energy level or stamina. Come Tue and Wed after school she is give out. Maybe because it has only been two months. Also her weight hasn't done what I thought it would. She has gained almost two pounds in a month but the got a stomach virus. Is the weight gain slow? I'll start with theose. Guest guest
Hi . Ian just received a G-tube - it's about 6-8 inches long and hangs out of his belly. In about 4 more weeks - he will receive what is called a Mic-Key button - which does not hang out and lays flat against the stomach. Ian has gained two pounds in 4 weeks - his intake of calories has increased because of the g-tube. But, Ian used to only gain 1 pound every 3 months. It is very important to note that I will now have to watch Ian's weight gain because of other insulin issues that can arise. Ian was put on the feeding tube for help in weight gain - but, more importantly for his hypoglycemia issues. If we miss a feeding - he still has issues. Did that answer any of your questions? I hope so. Keep asking if not - and don't worry about asking a lot of questions - it's very important that you feel comfortable with everything and that's what we are here for. - H > > Hi everyone, > I am the one that sent a post the other day about feeding tube > confusion with our ped.
