Hi Ken,

Unfortunately, I don't have any really good suggestions for you. I have

always been, and continue to be, a very very picky eater. I didn't eat meat

until I was 8 or 9, and the list of things I won't eat is still about twice as

long as the list of things I will eat. However, I will say that the *one*

thing that did work when I was younger was giving me non-American, more

" international " type of foods. Thai quickly became one of my favorite foods

after my grandparents introduced it to me when I was about six or so. I've

also always had an intense like of Indian food. I think my willingness to try

those kinds of foods had something to do with not being exposed to them in

every day life, and as a result, not knowing what certain things were.

Therefore, it was necessary for me to taste in order to investigate. I was

more likely to try something new if I didn't recognize a single thing on the

table. Strange, I know, but it seemed to work for me. Another thing

that worked for me when I was pretty young was putting food coloring in the

food (I went through a period where everything I ate was orange - lol). As I

said, I was pretty young when this technique worked (3 or 4), so I'm not sure

if it would work on since he's considerably older.

Anyway, good luck!

P.S. - if it's any conoslation, the older I get, the more varied my choice of

food gets. It's happening very slowly, but it is happening! Maybe by the time

I'm in the " Old Lawyers Nursing Home " , my list of dislikes will be shorter than

my list of likes =).

I need some advice.

For some time now we have been trying to get (my 8 year

old son) to eat a larger variety of foods. Presently he eats several

recipes that are all pasta, hotdogs, peas, pizza and corn. Once

in a while he will have a little milk and or a yogurt.

So how do you get an rss child who is a really really picky eater

to eat differnt kinds of food.

We have tried rewards (if you eat this then you can watch TV or

have cake etc.) So far nothing has worked.

How have you done this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
