Guest guest
Has anyone heard of Prebiotics and are they allowed on the diet? I was told to take them but then I read what they were and now I'm not sure. I'm talking about PRE biotics not PRO. Does anybody have an illness from mold (water leak in house...) Have you found any helpful treatments or health care people? or way to diagnose? We had it in the house and it occurred to me later that my and mother's health had gotten worse in last year, and possibly related to the mold behind the walls and in air. Maybe what helps with candida helps with mold. Thank you Lynn D

Guest guest
Does anybody have an illness from mold (water leak in house...) [Janine replies:] yes - my family got VERY sick from mold behind the walls of our old house Have you found any helpful treatments or health care people? [Janine replies:] we went to Dr Ali and Denville, NJ who is very well known for environmental medicine. He said mold/yeast in the body are basically the same. or way to diagnose? We had it in the house and it occurred to me later that my and mother's health had gotten worse in last year, and possibly related to the mold behind the walls and in air. Maybe what helps with candida helps with mold.[Janine replies:] yup

Guest guest
Hi Lynn, Yes, Yes, and Yes. Been SCD for 19 months with my family of 4. I have SBS dues to bowel re-section post volvulus in 2003. My sons are ASD. My husband has lyme. Was active on this list for first year. Learned I had chronic lyme last year. Was treated intensively for it, and felt better thru this winter. I'm in NJ, and we had terrible storms this past spring. The house never dried out, my " lyme " symptoms came back with a vengence. My doc suggested mold & water infiltration testing, and 4 months later, we have just filed an insurance claim for resulting damage due to water from the spring storms. I left the house for vacation in July - for 10 days. My symptoms cleared IMMEDIATELY. Within 6 hours of my return to the house, my symptoms returned. Lyme symptoms and biotoxin illness symptoms are nearly identical in some ways. I am following a modified protocol by Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker thru my integrative MD. I now take Cholestryamine (VERY SCD ILLEGAL) 3x per day, until we get the water issues resolved. Biotoxin illness is REAL. I have also come to terms with the fact that I need to start a yeast protocol for SCD until I'm back to 100%. I'm working on that. Anyway, check out Shoemakers site - the forums and FAQ's are intersting. His videos are interesting too. He is a fanatic, but all I will say is that the CSM is working for me. My inflammatory blood level markers are starting to come down, and I feel better in general. http://www.biotoxin.info/ Hope this helps you a bit. Guest guest
I'm also getting rid of heavy metals too, thru chelation. They all run hand in hand. Not sure of exact science. My doc who follows Shoemaker protocol is in NJ - she is e Gedroic, MD, located in town NJ. > > > > > > Does anybody have an illness from mold (water leak in house...) > > > Have you found any helpful treatments or health care people? > > > or way to diagnose? > > > We had it in the house and it occurred to me later that my and mother's health had gotten worse in last year, and possibly related to the mold behind the walls and in air. Sorry to hear about all this happening, Kim, especially after you reversed the Lyme symptoms. Anyway, I would suggest the first step about the yeast protocol should be getting ahold of s. boulardii, if you are not already on them - start with 1 away from food and keep increasing until you feel them effecting your symptoms. It's a really easy way to start and should help. Mara

Guest guest
There was a very famous young actress (sorry - don't recall her name) who died this year and shortly after her husband died of the same thing - come to find out what they had was caused by mold. Be very careful with this stuff - if you are still living with the mold make sure fresh air circulates in the house, get rid of any materials that have the mold, get rid of the moisture feeding the mold, and run an air purifier if you have one. Guest guest
no way I had no idea that's what caused it - scary stuff - our bathroom gets it, I bleach it away but always feel it's hiding behind the wall (no fan in there) so I try to keep window open as much as possible eileen > > > > > > Does anybody have an illness from mold (water leak in house...) > > > Have you found any helpful treatments or health care people? > > > or way to diagnose? > > > We had it in the house and it occurred to me later that my and mother's > > health had gotten worse in last year, and possibly related to the mold > > behind the walls and in air. Guest guest
Apparently, it was just internet speculation. The coroner says mold wasn't an issue: http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/celebrity.news.gossip/07/26/murphy.monjack.mold/\ index.html . Sure sounds like it could have been caused by something environmental though. What are the chances of 2 young people dying of pneumonia/anemia within months of each other? Guest guest
Agreed. I saw that they were denying it as " cause of death " ... but if pneumonia was the cause of death, what caused the pneumonia?! -Joanna > > Apparently, it was just internet speculation. Guest guest
Kim Does the Shoemaker treatment deal with mold and heavy metals? Do you have side effects from it? Just feeling pain to breath in morning and eyes getting grittier... thought was from certain foods and dealing with stress. Cant find the charcoal capsules have, maybe the bacon I burnt would work(ha ha) How did you get rid of Lyme? Thanks Lynn > > > > Does anybody have an illness from mold (water leak in house...) > > Have you found any helpful treatments or health care people? > > or way to diagnose? > > > >
Guest guest
Hi Mara, Thanks for the note - appreciate the support I was taking Sacc Boul., but my doc pulled me off of it. In the interim between the lyme and mold issues, I developed oxalate kidney stones, and had surgery in may - invasive & non-invasive on both kidneys - to remove the stones. One side had a stone larger than a golf ball. Anyway, I'm working on the Trying Low Oxalate list with Owens. Yeasts are a factor in oxalate stone development for someone with SBS, so I will post some ? there to ask about this. Thanks again...this list is wonderful. Guest guest
Lynn, For the lyme, I had 74 days of IV Rocephin. I also had IVIG - 10 days total over 2 months. I also had oral ABX and anti-malarial drugs for co-infections. My case was pretty severe, with apparrent nerve damage. Its definately chronic lyme as well. The gritty eyes are a definite symptoms of molds - That is the one thing that I had and could not get rid of until I began the CSM per Shoemaker, then it magically disappeared. Last evening, I had some raw goats milk cheddar - which my husband tasted and thought it tasted " moldy " . This mornig, my eyes are gritter than usual - my point is that the molds are pervasive in foods too, which is why I'm working on the anti-yeast SCD protocol too. For metals, I am taking Bioray products (NDF). These are not SCD legal. Shoemaker's protocol binds toxins, but I'm not sure to what extent. I think that you need a mechanism to move the toxins effectively to your bowel or kidneys for excretion, and I'm not sure if his protocol addresses that directly. But check the link for more info: http://www.biotoxin.info/ Hope this helps, Kim > > > > > > Does anybody have an illness from mold (water leak in house...) > > > Have you found any helpful treatments or health care people? > > > or way to diagnose? > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Kim going to Dr tomorrow and want to type questions up(hurts to type but worse to write today) and wondered how they test your inflammatory blood markers? Trying to list questions and symptoms. This Dr says he knows about mold and results of tests he ordered are in. Other Dr ordered 2hr postprandial blood glucose. ate 2 bananas,1apple/Dr order before test. Then had intest. cramps for days. Will take an aspirin , they work for me so maybe no trouble for salicilates. Posible trouble with oxylates, did see websites with calcium or mag. citrate to help reduce symptoms and other causes beside yeast. http://momsagainstmold.org/index.php?option=com_content & view=article & id=108 & Item\ id=35 and http://moldrecovery.blogspot.com/2009/06/where-do-i-begin.html trying to order antioxidents, probiotics and enzymes but brain is not organized enough to sort thru if SCD legal sources or not. Temperature seems to go up or down, will get sick in sun somedays. Am supposed to take care of house and Mom's stuff and 2 sons, .... Want to try something fun Hope everyone is doing well and thank you for info Thank you Lynn D > > > > Does anybody have an illness from mold (water leak in house...) > > Have you found any helpful treatments or health care people? > > or way to diagnose? > > > >
