Guest guest
With all that fat sounds more like you just plain dumped. Your description is exactly what happens to me when I eat too much sugar or fat. Didn't your doctor explain the dumping syndrome? Guest guest
Hey , I have this on occasion. The first few times it happened it was really scary. If I eat sugars, or starchy carbs without tempering it with protein it hits me about an hour or two later. Like, that calamari, did it have a cocktail sauce with it? That stuff has a ton of sugar apparently. And you know, bread... Turns right into sugar once you digest it. Anyway, that totally sounds like reactive hypoglycemia to me, and I do still get it at almost 3 years out, and I can pinpoint exactly what I ate to get me there too. Here's a link to a really informative website, just have to scroll down to the RH part. http://www.fred.net/slowup/hcauses.txt http://www.eradain.com/apoplexy reactive hypoglycemia? hi my name is jennifer and i am usualy a lurker, however i have been having some symptoms. i had rny gastric bypass on 8-28-01, lost 230lbs. i have been very stressed lately and not eating right. maybe i would eat once a day or something to that effect. last night around 5pm i went to mama mima's italian rest. i had 2 1/2 garlic rolls and some fried calamari, about 2 hrs later i was going to target and when i started walking in i had this strange feeling, like anxious feeling and my hands were shaking and it felt like my whole body inside was shaking, i thought i was going to faint and then shortly after i got very tired. i called my dr today and she said it sounded like reactive hypoglycemia. she is going to test me for it, my question is has anyone else had this happen so far after surgery and its not like im just starting to eat carbs. ive been eating carbs, so why all of a sudden this reaction last night? any responses would be greatly appreciated....thank you. Guest guest
I get that feeling, speaking of fried thangs, from the onion rings at Sonic. A lot of breading stuff has tons of sugar in it, which is why they taste so good. And, of course, it could be the bread. I generally avoid calamari, because it is so tough and dense, it's too filling too fast and ruins my dinner. in Austin RNY April 1998 315/190s reactive hypoglycemia? .. last night around 5pm i went to mama mima's italian rest. i had 2 1/2 garlic rolls and some fried calamari, about 2 hrs later i was going to target and when i started walking in i had this strange feeling, like anxious feeling and my hands were shaking and it felt like my whole body inside was shaking, i thought i was going to faint and then shortly after i got very tired. Guest guest
Hasn't happened to me YET, but maybe I didn't recognize it or perhaps the diabetes has something to do with it?
