Guest guest
Hi , You have been through so much ! I am really sorry to hear this. I was hoping you were feeling better and that the antibiotics were finally taking hold. Please let us know what you find out tomorrow. You have been such a trouper through all of this. I think it would have been more than some could handle as beautifully as you have. Sending you good thoughts for your appointment tomorrow! Big hugs, Fran > > > Hello, > > > > I'm five months post-op and continue to fight a loosing battle with the infections. I have just finished my recent course of antibiotics, I had two different types of antibiotics for two weeks and they were no use at all. > > > > My Dr was going to call my surgeon later today to tell him what had been happening and that eh's concerned that this is still going on at five months post-op. He also thinks that he felt something moving about, so that needs to be checked out too. He wants me to phone the surgeon's secretary in the morning and see if I can be added onto the clinic so I can see the surgeon. > > > > I'm hoping that he will be able to find the cause of all my pain and swelling so my fever's will stop, and my face will stopp turning bright red. Guest guest
Sorry to hear about your problems. Do you mean to say that you've been seeing your regular doctor (GP, internal medicine, etc) but not your OS? It's definitely a good idea to talk to your OS. Sounds like you may need to get your plates and screws removed, and get some x-rays taken to make sure everything's healing up ok. --Neil > > > Hello, > > > > I'm five months post-op and continue to fight a loosing battle with the infections. Guest guest
Sounds like you're on the right track. It's a bummer that you have to take such a long drive to see your surgeon. I had an infection about 3 weeks post-op and my OS was very attentive to the problem, wanting to see me twice a week for a few weeks until it completely cleared up. We did weekly x-rays for the first 4-6 weeks post-op, too. --Neil > > Neil, > > My MS is three hour's away so it was agreed that any problems i have with re-occuring infections that I can go and see my GP and he can give antibiotics and contact the MS to discuss things with him, my GP used to assist in jaw surgery. > > It has been mentioned several times that the screws and plates will probably be taken out, iv'e had another surgery in August and once iv'e had the scans I will need another op. > > My MS was sick today so I will see him tomorrow. > sarah > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo! Guest guest
hi Neil, It is a pain having to drive all that way to see my surgeon but it's worth it. My surgeon is waiting for the scans before he can do anything else. I have regular x-rays taken and starting to get fed up of them, but they are needed so I can't complain. --------------------------------- Yahoo! Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs.
