Guest guest
WOW !!!!! What great news for you! I will keep my fingers crossed that it happens by Christmas. Although I haven't had as much work done on me as you have (what am I saying, we all know that you " win the prize " in that catagory!!), I have had braces 3 times and both upper and lower done twice. Some people that haven't been through anything like this just don't understand. Keep us posted! a > > I just came back from my ortho appt and I'm still in shock. Guest guest
Whoohooo !! That is excellent news!! Looks like the two cabooses of the June surgery group (you and Caboose) have moved right to the front of the train:-) I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it all works out. Wow, after 9+ years of braces this time around I'm sure it will feel very strange but nice to have those brackets removed AND your husband will finally see you braceless:-) I am also hoping that my ortho will be able to take my braces off next Tuesday as he said he would but knowing that doctors always change their minds I am trying not to put my hopes up too much. Still, can't wait to run my tongue across my smooth teeth again. Keep us posted! Sara xx > > I just came back from my ortho appt and I'm still in shock. Guest guest
Hi Diane, Yes, he did forget because his office called me today and said it was okay to take my braces off. Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that everything looks good on Nov 29 to get the official approval. Woo hoo! I hope everything is going well for you too. > > > > I just came back from my ortho appt and I'm still in shock. Guest guest
Hi na Good luck with your surgery. I'm sure you're happy to finally be ready for surgery and get it over with. I had my braces on for six years as well before my first surgery and it seemed to take forever. That does suck to have your surgery right before Christmas. I know the feeling. I had one of my surgeries two days before Thanksgiving. I was still so out of it though that I slept while everyone else ate. I hope you'll be able to get your braces off soon after surgery and enjoy your beautiful smile as well. > > > > I just came back from my ortho appt and I'm still in shock. Guest guest
Hi Sara! Wow. Tuesday's the big day. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you as well that your ortho takes them off. That's my biggest fear - that my ortho will change his mind. Post some pictures of your new smile! > > > > I just came back from my ortho appt and I'm still in shock. Guest guest
Hi , That is fantastic news!! Wow, 17 years is a large chunk of your life to have worn these braces!! I know I will be happy when mine are off, and I have only worn braces for a total of 2 months! lol So I can only imagine how you must be feeling! I will be crossing my fingers for you that Dec 12th is THE day! Hugs, Fran > > I just came back from my ortho appt and I'm still in shock. Guest guest
Hi Fran, Oh yeah, I'm counting the days. My OS did give us the okay to take the braces off so things are looking really good for Dec 12th. How long until your surgery? > > > > I just came back from my ortho appt and I'm still in shock. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for asking my surgery date. I wish it was soon, but I am just two months in braces, and was told it would be approximately 2 years before surgey! UGH! Oh well, I guess in two years it will be two years later whether or not I did the surgery, and at least then, I will be ready for a new smile and bite! At least that is how I get through the bad days with the braces and the tension headaches and the jaw tenderness, and the messy eating and constant flossing and cleaning............. Lol!!! Guest guest
Hi Fran, I had a long wait as well - 3 years from when my bottom braces went on until my upper/lower surgery, so I can empathize with you. Once you get used to the braces, though, the time will go alot quicker - that's what I found. Before you know it - you'll be in the healing process, and counting the days until you can pick solid food out of your braces once again (haha)! Take care, Pam > > > > > > > > I just came back from my ortho appt and I'm still in shock.
