Hi ,

Some people describe it as being a fruity smell, for others it

smells acetone like, like nailpolish remover. For Olivia it smells

like alcohol! Oh yeah... it's the breath that we're smelling not

the urine. I now know when Olivia is spilling ketones just by her

breath although I do test just to see what the numbers are.

Actually I've heard of diabetics that are initially charged for

drunk driving when they go into diabetic shock while driving because

of the strong alcohol smell on their breath.

Leah - I'm barging in here - but, I wanted to say thanks for posting

this. I had no idea there was a " smell " attached to ketones. I

never noticed it even for when Ian has spilled them - at least now I

have one more thing I can try to look for when looking for ketones.

Hi again Girls!

I'm doing pretty well now. Still a slight pain issue but it's way

less than the pain before so that's a huge plus, and I know that it

will be over for good soon. The kids have been great with helping

out more and Trent's still my Angel Man doing over and above what he

needs too.

My prayers are still with everyone going through tough times right

now!
