Put the waistband around your neck (like a very chic necklace) and then pin the drain tubes to the hanging waistband " necklace " . Guest guest
1. Get your prescriptions for pain and antibiotics filled BEFORE surgery. 2. Hope you are taking Zinc and vitimin A. DON'T take E!!! 3. Heating pad 4. Ice pad 5. Soft teddy bear 6. Pamper yourself, indulge in the soft and comfy things. 7. Have all your " good food " no junk around so you don't dump. It's hard to eat much so you need high protein around to keep you healing well. It feels weird. That's the best way I can put it. Not a lot of major pain but really weird. Tight. Like you've got on a pair of pants 3 sizes too small. I found laying down on my side just fine but others have to sleep in a comfy chair for a week or so. Might want to line one of those up. Wearing pants that had any weight to them was uncomfortable. My surgeon doesn't do the binders. I liked those cheap lightweight pajama things the best and of course BIG, like barely staying on BIG. Take good care cleaning wise. It's tender but look at it often and watch out for infection sites starting. They took the steri strips off of me after 1 week. That made me feel even weirder. Those little white strips were keeping me together but doctor said that was total illusion. The drain tubes were no big deal (except when I was showering and would drop one out of my mouth accidently - I'd put the safety pin in my mouth while I showered) YIKES that smarted. In retrospect going to the dentist hurts more but having your body redone is a mind bender. Recovery was very pleasant. Read a great couple of books, slept tons and took slow peaceful short walks in the woods. CAT
