Guest guest
Wishing you the best , we are all praying for you that you are able to be a transplant candidate Gascoigne SD, 50 yrs old, Renaud's 2008, IPF 7/2009To: Breathe-Support Sent: Wed, January 20, 2010 5:20:38 PMSubject: update from laura Dear friends, I had my appointment with the GI doctor and he thinks that my esophagus shoulnd't be a problem for my transplant, he wants me to have a surgery in my esophagus during the transplant surgery. I think that surgery is called esophyx or something like that. My lungs are really giving up, I am loosing weight fast, i dropped two sizes in less than a month, i mentioned to my pulmonologist but she didn't comment anything, maybe this is normal in people with low DLCO? I can't take a deep breath, i don't cough much. I do have to stop and catch my breath while doing simple tasks, but not due to coughing, is more like an "off" feeling or like i really need to rest. I still have some more tests done before the doctors can decide if i am a candidate for a trasnplant. G. 36 years old. Baton Rouge LA. Guest guest
Hi , I'm sorry you are feeling worse. From what I've read weight loss is a symptom of PF, but at what stage I don't know. I could use a little of that symptom right now so I can get down to the ideal weight to be listed for a lung transplant. I hope all your other tests come back good and healthy so you can get listed! You are using O2, right? Take care, C_53_Familial IPF_5/09, Washington HOPE doesn't disappoint!
