Guest guest
Hi, I'm finally coming out of lurkdom to introduce myself. My name is Glenna, and I had LAP Prox. RNY on 9/10/02 in sdale, Az with Dr. Robin Blackstone. So far I have lost 190lbs(half my body weight) and I am still losing, albeit slowly. I have about 20lbs to goal( which my doc defines as a BMI below 25. I started with a BMI of 54. This surgery really saved my life as I had many comorbids. I am a dedicated Protein Perv( in spite of my doc). I work as an RN, am divorced with one son, and four furry children(two greyhounds and two cats). I also just wanted to vent about my personal pet peeve. I facilitate a support group and one of the things I can't stand is all the " flintstones and Tums " docs out there. Just last night the question came up again- " Our doc says that is all we need " . And no advice on B12-sheesh! Any input from you " experienced hands " that I could share with my group would be appreciated. Vitalady, I know you have personal experience with this, and other input is welcome too. Thanks!
