Guest guest
I was wired shut for 2 weeks; now I've been banded shut for 2 weeks, and I'm getting debanded next week. I'm quite nervous about it, because the few times that I've been 'opened up' during my weekly post-op OS visits, my jaw has felt COMPLETELY mobile and unstable. Like I have nearly no musculature control over it at all. I'm sure this must be at least somewhat normal, and that my OS wouldn't deband me unless i were " ready " for it...just looking for some guidance on what to expect. How long after I'm debanded until I start to feel some sense of control -- i.e. how long will I feel completely unstable for?

I felt the same way as you. Once he took off the rubber bands, I was thinking " I don't know if i'm rady for this yet " . It took about a couple of hours for me to feel comfortable. The next day is a huge improvement and so on. Good Luck, Brad
