Guest guest
Ultimately we are responsible for complete management of our bodies...the mind, heart and the shell we exist in. We can not always be responsible for an illness that attacks us, a genetic flaw that follows us, or a surgeon that fails us, but we are completely responsible for how we allow these issues to effect the rest of our lifes. The test of our character BEGINS here at the end of the line. When we realize that there is no more external help for a situation, that whining and bitterness does not help, when there is no one else who can fix us...instead the " hope " only lies within our own hearts. We have developed much courage through our fat years. We have lived with bias and discrimination. We are stronger than we think. I can only analyze my own failures and past years as a fat person and recognize that I certainly played a part in the tragedy. I gave up many times and sought comfort foods. I was weak when I did not always have a reason to be (just because the darn stuff looked good, even though I had just eaten a meal and was sated.) I still at times ate the desert and too darn much of it. I still dragged my fair share of food to the TV and the computer and the fatter I got the more I dragged. I still had " stinkin thinkin " and thought the calories didn't count if I ate in the closet or standing in front of the stove or when no one was looking. I wasn't dying of hunger or beset with emotional problems at the time. It just was too hard to resist and I had my fair share of weak moments. I just plain wanted it. So, I will just walk quietly to the front of the room. Face all of you and say, " Hi, my name is Carol. Guest guest
And I love you, Janice... Same heart Same struggles I don't know you but, you, like everyone on the list is very precious to me. We all have common bonds...the thread that bind us together. I pray daily for all of us, especially lately for Jac, Tara and those who have to add other major struggles on top of the ones we deal with daily. I don't respond to all the messages but I am faithful to pray. Big hug, Carol G. > > In a message dated 12/4/2003 8:45:38 AM Central Standard Time, > > diana_11_6@y... writes: > > > > > One thing though, if you are aware that if you eat x amount of > food or this > > > or > > > that type of food and know the consequence is obesity, aren't > you in some > > > way responsible? > > ----------------------------------------------------- > > > > And if you know it and you take the responsibility and avoid the > foods and > > eat " normal " amounts and exercise and you STILL can't maintain a > normal weight, > > is it still your responsibility?
