Guest guest
Hi Pat, sorry to hear you're having such a hard time..as for the fireplace..omg..i can't be around ANY smoke @ all. I'm afraid that people that don't have our disease just don't understand. Stay away from the fireplace if at all possible. If you can...explain to your husband that he cannot put it on anymore! I can't have any candles around me..not perfumes..no scented creams..smoke @ all..it's bad..AS for your cough, you should ask your dr to prescribe something for that. Unfortunately that's how it all started for alot of us..especially me..i've had a constant dry cough for @ least 4 years..the dr's thought it was asthma..but later found it it was not. My dr prescribed tylenol 3 w/codeine & it has really really help to subside my cough. I take it as needed..usually at night & in the morning. Do you use your oxygen? You really should not go out unless u have your oxygen especially if your o2 goes down that low. I understand sometimes we don't want to use it all the time but forsure when you go out...you must use it...it can cause major problems..like an enlarged heart to start. Anyway, hope this helps. And don't worry about rambling..that's what we're here for to hear ya ramble! Dot/uip10/08/42/sa,tx Subject: I'm NewTo: Breathe-Support Date: Wednesday, December 9, 2009, 11:55 AM Hi Everyone,I'm new to this site. I was diagnosed with IPF 4 years ago. I've been on oxygen at night for a year, and with exertion during the day. I now have to use it when I go out and about. One morning I was going to run an errand about 10 minutes form my house. I didn't feel too well, but I didn't use my oxygen. I had a wreck. Ran up into a yard and hit a big decorative bolder. I must have blacked out, because I don't remember what happened. That was two months ago and I've been afraid to drive since. Now I feel trapped, because I can't go out whenever I want, and have to depend on someone else to take me. Sometimes my oxygen level drops to 78-79 If I don't have it on. I cough a lot also. I would like to know if any of you have a problem with a fireplace. My husband likes to burn our fireplace, but it really bothers me. Anyone that doesn't have a problem breathing just doesn't understand this disease. I would rather have cancer or heart disease. I've rambled..... hope I made sense. Anxious to hear from anyone. It's so nice to be in contact with other people that understand.Pat

Guest guest
Dot,How are you coping with UIP. Do you take meds? I might have asked you before but don't remember. I read all the posts but I am interested in those that have the same branch of the disease as I.To: Breathe-Support Sent: Wed, December 9, 2009 11:53:56 PMSubject: Re: I'm New=Pat Hi Pat, sorry to hear you're having such a hard time..as for the fireplace..omg. .i can't be around ANY smoke @ all.
