Hi Kathy,

I am 8 years out from a distal RNY. I started at 275 and presently weigh

138. I went through a period of malnutrition and anemia 2 years ago, going

from 145 to 162 lbs and then back down to holding steady for a year at

152/154. Then, when I went to the doctor early January (NOTE - AFTER THE

HOLIDAYS), I was down to 138. I have NO clue as to why I am losing weight.

I'm NOT trying. I really don't think about food. The only thing I can

think of is that I'm finally ACTUALY making a conscious effort to get in all

of my vitamins and all my protein.

Hi ! I think I remember when you were in malnutrition, was reading it

here, but was unable to post. Wasn't a Grad yet!

Anyway, I'm so glad that you're doing much better, as when I had read about

your malnutrition experience, I was VERY concerned, especially since you were

so far out <grins - " far out, man! " > from surgery. Also, I am experiencing

another rapid weight loss post-holidays, have lost 7# in about 1.5 weeks!! I'm

still a newbie compared to you and others out there, but I find it simply

amazing

that I am losing so quickly!!

I have upped my protein as well, up to 5/daily, and have been

protein-feasting for the most part, as the carb monster had its ugly grip on me

during the

holidays. Realizing that I am still in the honeymoon phase of this journey, I

realized that I had better make some GOOD changes, yanno? Ok, so you *do* know

what I mean!!

Here's to our GOOD decisions for our bodies and lives!

Hugs,

Katt Morales
