I had this problem, only right after. The swelling in your mouth

makes it seem like the splint is taking up your whole mouth, but when

the swelling goes down you will find the splint isn't that bad. Now I

don't even notice it up there. I do know that about for 4 nights

after the surgery I would wake up suddenly gagging. I didin't know if

this was the splint or the medication making me nautious when i slept.
