Guest guest
Miralax is SCD-legal, but some of us are lucky enough not to need it after a while. Wish I was one [sigh]. There are a number of things that help with constipation, and we often have to try one or the other or in combination. Unless your problem with digestive motility is functional (meaning neurological), then you can usually see improvements in that regard the longer you are on SCD. I have poor digestive motility due to neuropathies. So I take Miralax daily, along with magnesium and eating prunes once a week. I find I do adjust the dosage of Miralax every once in a while, going down for a bit then back up. There is a cycle to the ups and downs – but then that is true for my other digestive symptoms as well. Kim M. SCD 6 years Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction 6+ years neurological & spinal deterioration 3+ years >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I just started 4 days ago, too. I have Crohn's and have had for it for 13 years. I just had a surgery in July following a perforation and surgery in March. Anyway, I didn't have a BM for the first 2 days even with my Miralax habit. I am guessing Miralax isn't on the diet, but it had been an absolute must for me, so I continued it. After day 3 on the diet, however, I had to stop because I actually had D. Not sure if this helps answer your question, but voila. Hopefully the prunes work for you.
