Guest guest
Hi , Sorry to hear that too, but I think you are correct. The root canal, while certainly no picnic, is at least a relatively quick fix for pain and relief! Guest guest
Oh dear. I don't quite get it, though. I thought -- probly mistakenly -- that you'd said you'd already had a root canal here. When they do root canals on me (and I'm about as expert at being a patient on that as you are) they remove the nerve, and pack the space with stuff. I can tell you that once I had to have two at once, on adjacent teeth that had already been crowned. To my amazement, it really was painless. Of course, I asked for gas. (Also to my amazement, I was told that I would have to pay for that myself, as BC/BS refuses anesthesia for root canals. Hel-lo??? Oh well, I paid. And I do know of one case in which a woman had to fight to get BC/BS to pay for anesthesia for upper and lower surgery plus genio. They paid for the rest of the surgery. Sure. You're gonna take my mouth apart and put it back together while i'm wide awake???) Odd, odd. But I hope yours will be as easy as my last ones. There's a whole family of Irish endosurgeons here, and they do little else beside that. I asked my guy why in the world he chose a career of spending day after day doing root canals. He gave me a good answer, I thought: " People come in here in pain. I do something, and they leave feeling better. That's very rewarding. Guest guest
- - Sorry to hear about your upcoming root canal procedure. My dentist did one on me a few years ago and it was a piece of cake! It took him less time to do a rootcanal than to fill a cavity. I wish the BSSO + LeFort was as simple! // BTW, I had to go back to my OD today because my lower archwire was sticking me in my inner cheeks - ouch! He bent the sharp ends inward and away from gums and inner cheek tissue, and tightened and tightened my archwires as I moaned and groaned. He mentioned that he hates those crowns I have on my lower front teeth, and intends on discussing their removal with both my dentist and OMS. The problem he has with them is that they have a little ledge of sorts on the lingual side where they meet my gumline, and this ledge is interfering with the movement of my upper incisors. Also, the tissue beneath the crowns has never been exactly healthy looking (purplish color). He says he'd like to get them removed and temporary crowns put on just to tide me over until after my surgery. I didn't plan on new crowns when I enrolled in my FSA this past March; just what I need, another expense. My insurance only pays 50% on crowns.// I took a Naproxen when I got to work as my head was throbbing. Braces sure are FUN! LOL On my way back to work, I stopped at my OMS's office to make an appointment for Dec.; his office staff was happy to see me and said my teeth look good! I hope I have a better day tomorrow.// Hang in there, -- See? - I'm having problems too! TGIF! Take care. Thanks for letting me vent.~~~~ Diane (Idaho)-- In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " georgek042003 " <georgek042003@y...> wrote: > Hi All, > > Well today I ended up at the endodontist for this tooth pain I have > been having on tooth #20.
