Guest guest
How do I know if it is the total SCD approach that I need of if I have an allergy or something to specific illegal foods? In Jan 2008 I was diagnosed with Chron's after a few months of terrible stomach cramping and bathroom experiences. I didn't want to live my life on meds and a Dr I know suggested SCD. I was on SCD for 4 1/2 mos. and then I stopped. Partially because I ran out of patience but also partially because I saw that when I took lactaid my stomach was fine no matter what I ate. I have regreted going off it ever since. While I was on, my energy levels were better then I could remember even as a child. I was able to think so clearly and accomplish everything. My house was neat, my moods swings almost non existent and ADHD or whatever you want to call my scatter brain tendencies, totally gone. After the first month or so, the ecsema on my hands had gone away and my ever present sinus infection and fatigue was gone. My acid reflux wasn't there either. All these things returned within a few weeks of ending the diet and I knew I had to try again. I was going to start when life got way to complicated for that due to a bump that had started petruding out of my neck. The 'bump' ended up being a tumor and so SCD was quite out of reach while Chemo therapy took over. Now two years in to remission from my battle with Hodgkins I am determined to take care of myself. Hodgkins and Chron's are both autoimmune diseases and my Drs saw no correlation but it sure scared me. I started right after Sukkos and I'm still surviving but I have about 100 questions and need some support. I'm still deciding if I should stick with the whole plan long term or if I should try in a month or so to introduce some illegal foods and see if it was the whole thing that was necessary or maybee just gluten or wheat or who knows....
