We have talked to our employer's BCBS rep and done all of the paperwork to no avail. >>>> Dear Reba: If it would help, I can write a letter as both a shrink and a diabetic, speaking to the issue of diabetes being aggrivated by sustained stress (fearing for one's life while sleeping). I would also write that hanging skin not only makes adequate hygiene impossible (they already know that), AND that this leads to ooen sores, consistent with supperative bed sores. It is an incontestable fact, that persons who suffer from diabetes are medically at risk for open sores, which are difficult to heal because of the diabetes and circulatory problems associated with diabetes. Skin infections and lestions can cause no end of medical expense for wound care. The psychological stress cuased by anticipating such a decline in health is another reason to decrease redundnat skin. This is clearly a psychological as well as medical issue/ with love, ceep g-mom
