Pat - you know - I was going to guess /Autumn - but, I didn't

want to risk hurting someones feelings. Should have gone with my gut!

LOL - if you read this - I'd love to know the specifics on

Hi! Yes, it was me. I bought Autumn a doll that looked kind of like

her...blond hair, blue eyes, and it had a soft body so I could cut it

open and place the button. I bought it as soon as the decision for a

tube was made. I used a valve from a beachball and put it in the

same area of her stomach that her tube would be placed. The reason I

used the valve is becase she had a Mic-Key button placed and that was

the closest thing I could find to resemble it! She just loves the

doll. I didn't place the g-tube on the doll until after Autumn had

her surgery because her doll had the ng tube just like her! It

worked out perfectly because I already had the doll for her when she

was admitted and given the ng tube. I brought it with us and asked

the nurse for some extra tubing and I was given very thin clear

sample size ng tubing and then taped it to her dolls face. Autumn

gave her doll feeds through that using an empty small syringe and

then we transitioned it to a g-tube when Autumn did. Although she

was only 22 mos, she understood very well and it made such a big

difference. That doll is now her favorite doll. I was originally

going to use a cabbage patch kid because they have belly buttons and

Autumn has one named Autumn that looks like her. The problem was it

was just too big for her to carry around easily! I also gave her doll

an iv (a bandage around her wrist resembling Autumn's bandage over

the iv), breathing treatments with the nebulizer, etc...it is just

great. Autumn has someone with her now that is just like her! I have

the cutest pictures of Autumn and her doll with ng tubes but I can't

upload them on the photos, I think they are too big or something. I

have tried so many times and unfortunatly, I am not good with this

stuff so I can't figure it out!

- oh - you don't know how happy you have made me! Thank

you so much! I hope you don't mind my borrowing your idea. I

looked for a rabbit today and didn't see one (he has a favorite

rabbit) - I'm going to search the house first for a stuffed animal

and then go to the mall if I don't find anything. I can't thank you

enough for giving me this info. It is such a fabulous and well

thought out idea - obviously from a very caring mother. Thank you

again!!
