I think you told me about it once before.

I'm not sure what I think of it -- but then I like most foods that

don't run away from me first. (Exceptions: RUTABAGA; Rhubarb. Hot and

spicy stuff.) So I'd probably dig in... And there would be the docs,

walking right up to me, even if I were in the farthest corner of

Weight-Watchers' Hell.

I know some people for whom the Atkins system worked pretty well. For

me, I tried it back in the days of " Calories Don't Count, " which was

essentially the same advocacy of meat and oil, and avoidance of

carbs. I found that it created the most enormous cravings for

carbohydrates I've ever had. I'm a believer, even if not a current

practitioner, of the old-fashioned system of cutting calories and

increasing exercises.

But that's a problem (being overweight) that few people on jaw

surgery sites are experiencing, as you know. More often, there's

trouble packing enough calories in to keep the healing going.

I do think that mild exercise can help with the depression that

sometimes occurs, though -- the operative word being " mild. " For

those with recovering jaws, anyhow.
